So yeah, Jodi and I were here at the studio late last night working on the invite for our launch party (August 1st). We were shooting pictures in the dark with super long shutter speeds so I shut the door to the back of our studio to make it darker … and consequently locked us in our backroom with no way out. I’m not sure if you seen R.Kelly’s rap opera “Trapped In The Closet” but it was nothing like that. It was more like that movie “Red Dawn” … it was dark … we had maybe a pickle or two in the fridge … I had enough battery life in my phone to call super director Haig to come rescue us … oh, and we had a whole bunch of glow sticks.
Jodi and I amused ourselves for a while and then somehow the roof caught on fire. There was fire dripping from the ceiling everywhere like that movie “Backdraft” and we were both pretty sure we were gonna die — then at the last second Haig pole vaulted up from the back alley. It was awesome! He smashed through the glass of a burning window frame, took one deep breath and blew the fire out all on his own. People came pouring into our studio and LiFTed Haig up onto their shoulders and put a crown on his head and cheered their pants off!
OK, so that might not have been exactly how it happened … but Haig did come and save us from having to sleep on a bunch of the Mirror project’s equipment. The three of us took some awesome photos and learned a bunch on our path towards making our invite for our super fun liftoff party coming up on August 1st. Rremember the date because it’s going to be amazing!
I’m not going to lie, with a dying phone battery I really thought we were in there for the night. Concrete beds. Thanks for saving us at 11pm Haig.
It really must have been pretty late. I remember the desperation in Myke’s voice on the phone and then I just sprang into action. It was weird, I don’t remember much after that. My instincts just kicked in and the next thing I knew we were sitting in the studio in the dark chugging beer.
I just glad that Jodi and Myke are alright. If they couldn’t have reached anyone it could have been horrific. Like that movie “Alive” – body odor, no food, fighting over coffee grounds, deaths and ultimately….people eating people.
