Travis Nicholson is an inter-disciplinary nerd, designer, writer, editor, photographer and publishing professional. While completing his undergraduate degree in Film Studies at Brock University, Travis worked as a humour writer, photographer, teaching assistant, freelance designer and industrial pipe shipper before moving to Vancouver in 2008 to lay in the grass, breathe the warm Pacific air and get his Masters of Publishing.
Citing his family, friends, author David Foster Wallace and The Flaming Lips as some of his many influences, Travis uses his education in film, digital media, communications, publishing, and design to guide his work in everything from illustration to static text to interactive experiences. Currently a candidate for his Masters of Publishing from Simon Fraser University, Travis has his feet wet and is eager to dive right in.
At the relatively cherubic age of 24, Travis likes short walks on the beach, has lived in Scotland for a while, grew up minutes from Niagara Falls and given the chance he’d give it all up for the chance to be an astronaut — if only for one day.
