Lara, you raise a good point that we are all responsible for the choices we make and for resolving to follow through and prioritize responsible decisions. It definitely scales from a micro to a macro level in a cumulative way. Unfortunately this way of thinking and being isn't immediately obvious (or desirable) to a seemingly large number of people, which is why I found this report for the Human Rights Watch so interesting. Hopefully its a step towards bringing awareness to the fore and explicating the rippling impact of the choices we make on a daily basis.

I agree. Of course creatives bear responsibility for the work they choose to take on, just as we are all responsible for the clothes we choose to wear, the food we choose to eat, the transportation we choose to use and countless other choices we make that impact the lives of people, animals, forests, oceans etc.. around us. The hard part isn't figuring out who is responsible for exploitation, the hard part is to resolve to make making responsible choices a priority.
