Cam pulls from a wide gamut of design knowledge and experience, which enables him to create simple and elegant solutions
After three years in the Geography faculty at the University of Victoria, Cameron realized that he was not truly happy with the direction that his life and career were heading. After a year of soul searching Cam wound up realizing that his passion for design was lighting the path to a more enjoyable career. His search for an education that bridged the gap between programming and design led him to the Art Institute of Vancouver where he studied Interactive Media Design. Cam has always had an affinity for the arts, whether it be painting, architecture, design or interactive; Cam feels lucky to be able to say that he truly loves what he does for a living.
This passion is something that he brings to the table with each and every project he is a part of. Passion is also something that connects all of us at LiFT. Cam strongly believes that the interactive medium is quickly becoming a playground for talented designers and programmers around the planet. The ability to combine type, graphics and video has never been greater. In the age of digital design, designers must be prepared to work across all mediums, which is reflected in his influences from Jackson Pollock to Arthur Erickson, Cam draws inspiration from everywhere.
Cam pulls from a wide gamut of design knowledge and experience, which enables him to create simple and elegant solutions – a methodology that affects his visual and programmatic outcomes. Cam’s knowledge of web programming and development is invaluable when designing interactive projects. He no longer approaches a project with the thought of static design, but rather views his ideas in motion. Thinking and working through motion has given Cam the insight that is leading a new generation of web experiences. This is the standard he strives for on all projects ? pushing results to transcend mediums.
